MPAA Rated R for pervasive strong violence, and some language

Sex & Nudity

  • In a Casablanca hotel we see a very quick glimpse of a woman dancing suggestively.
  • There are belly dancers in the background seen as Wick walks through the Casablanca location of the Continental.

Violence & Gore

  • Literally non-stop bloody action throughout. Severe squared.
  • John Wick fights a man at a library. They throw each other around and punch one another in the face multiple times. Eventually, John gets the upper hand and corners the man towards a wall. He puts a book in the man's mouth and repeatedly punches the book, he then twists the books which breaks the man's jaw. He finishes his opponent by putting the man's head on the side of a book and then punching him which breaks the man's neck.
  • John fights 4 men in an corridor filled with different types of bladed weapons. He brutally kills them all by stabbing them through the neck, head and chest. One man gets stabbed slowly through his eye, we see this up-close.
  • John fights assassins in a stable, he uses the horses to his advantage by placing the assassins behind the horse and then slapping the animal, making it kick the killers. Lots of blood.
  • A girl is seen removing a toenail. Blood is seen accompanied by a crunching sound.
  • A man is shot in both his knees and is bitten in the groin. He screams in pain and we see blood on his groin and knees.
  • A man gets branded on his back. He quickly shouts in pain.
  • A man fights off several motorcyclist while driving in high speeds. We see the man stabbing one motorcyclist through the head, one gets his arm cutoff and several others get shot
  • A woman is stabbed through both her hands. Blood pours out.
  • The scene where someone get's stabbed in the eye was censored in the Australian and Indonesian version of the movie so if you're Australian or Indonesian don't worry about having to view that.
  • Considering that the two previous installments have an abundance of blood and gore, it's clear that this film pushes the limit even further, with extreme violence and non-stop visceral action throughout its 130 minute runtime.


  • 4 uses of "fuck"
  • Wick gives someone the finger (humorous).
  • A few uses of "bitch" and "ass." The movie is not too bad with language; probably had the least in the series

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Winston drinks whiskey, brandy, and other liquor through the movie

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Constant intense and bloody action-violence.
  • This movie is the most violent out of the three films.
  • A dog is shot. However, it is wearing a bulletproof vest and is unharmed. We hear a brief yelp but the dog soon gets up and attacks the shooter.
  • Prolonged intense fighting and shooting sequences are expected. John Wick's life is in constant danger, so tense scenarios are expected.

Violence & Gore

  • Multiple gunshot wounds, head shots, knife wounds, and one enemy has an eye opening encounter with a knife.
  • A huge shootout where two assassins fight through many henchmen. We see both distance and up-shots of henchmen being shot in the head, chest and legs. Two dogs are also in this scene, and they bite several henchmen throughout. Very bloody.
  • A man cuts off his finger. He screams out in pain and holds up his finger. Lots of blood.
  • A man get's slashed seven times with a sword. We see blood spray and he collapses. It is later revealed that he survived the attack.
  • A big shootout takes place at a hotel. Lots of guards gets shot with blood spraying. As they are wearing armor, they are all shot in their throats and in their eyes, which are their weak spots. The protagonist later switches to an shotgun with armor piercing rounds. When he uses this weapon, we see some guards getting their heads blown off.
  • A man fights two people. He defeats them but out of respect, he does not kill them. Bloody.
  • Two men fight each other with swords. Al tough they are first equals, one of the men gets the upper hand and slashes the other man several times. He then stabs him through the chest. The stabbed man later collapses and dies from the stab wound.
  • A man is shot in the chest and back 4 times. Although he is wearing a bulletproof vest, he falls of the building and is presumed dead. We see him falling and hitting various objects on the way down. He is revealed to have survived his fall minutes later.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Only in the first ten minutes when John Wick visits a doctor, a stitch procedure is performed, and medicine is used, but that is all.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There are multiple fight scenes, most of which last a long time. The film is more or less a fight, with a few breaks between
  • The scene where Winston shoots John Wick out of the roof will definitely upsetting some people.
