Storyline

All Clara wants is a key - a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift from her late mother. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer's annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key-which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It's there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip, a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers, and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger, to retrieve Clara's key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world.

Trivia

Morgan Freeman's character "Drosselmeyer," nearly mirrors "Lucius Fox"a character he played in the Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy. As Drosselmeyer the toy maker and mentor to Clara, herself a technical genius, works in his workshop 'down below' just like Lucius Fox in Applied Sciences department at 'Wayne Enterprises,' for Bruce Wayne. A clock work swan Drosselmeyer was working on failed to work properly as it turned backwards. Clara fixed it for Drosselmeyer by fixing the drive gears idler wheel. In Batman's DarkNight Rises, 'the Bat' flying vehicle that Fox did not get to fix was repaired by. Bruce Wayne, who repaired a program patch in the flight software. See more »

Was super disappointed
4 November 2018 | by timac11See all my reviews

Had been excited to see this movie for months after seeing the trailers. As always, the trailer depicted a completely different movie. This reminded me a lot about the mess that was Snow white and the huntsman. Super boring, almost no action, anti climatic and little character development. The visuals were great at least. All in all, was super bored.
