Is the “Breaking Bad” movie closer to release than fans might think? Emmy winners Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul have skyrocketed the buzz around the upcoming project thanks to a pair of cryptic social media posts. Both actors took to Twitter on June 25 and posted the same photo of two donkeys with the caption: “Soon.”

Breaking Bad” writer and “Better Call Saul” showrunner Peter Gould reacted to the photos with his own post that reads: “Looking forward to this.”

The “Breaking Bad” movie is one of the most secretive projects in Hollywood. ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ Drama From David E. Kelley & A+E Studios Gets CBS Series Production Commitment
In one of the first big sales of the 2019-20 broadcast development season, CBS has given a series production commitment to The Lincoln Lawyer, a legal drama from The Practice creator David E. Kelley based on Michael Connelly’s series of bestselling novels. The project hails from A+E Studios, which will co-produce with CBS TV Studios.

Written by Kelley, The Lincoln Lawyer centers on Mickey Haller, an iconoclastic idealist, who runs his law practice out of the back of his Lincoln Town Car, as he takes on cases big and small across the expansive city of Los Angeles.

Kelley will executive produce with Connelly and Ross Fineman.

The high-profile project, which marks Kelley’s return to broadcast, was taken out by A+E Studios just before the upfronts, with CBS quickly snapping it.

‘Maniac’ Creator to Helm ‘Made for Love,’ ‘Station Eleven’ for WarnerMedia
Maniac” creator Patrick Somerville has signed on to helm two new series, “Made for Love” and “Station Eleven,” for WarnerMedia’s upcoming streaming service.

“Made for Love,” which will be executive produced and directed by S.J. Clarkson, is a 10-episode, straight-to-series adaptation based on the novel of the same name by Alissa Nutting. Nutting, Liza Chasin and Dean Bakopoulos will also executive produce. WarnerMedia Entertainment will co-produce with Paramount TV.

The half-hour comedy follows Hazel Green, a 30-something woman on the run after 10 years in a suffocating marriage to an unstable tech billionaire. Soon she discovers that her husband has already implanted a revolutionary monitoring device — the Made for Love — in her brain, allowing him to track her, watch her, and know her thoughts and feelings as she tries to stay alive.

“Station Eleven” will be directed by frequent “Atlanta” and “Barry” director Hiro Murai, who will also serve as an executive producer.

Amazon has boarded “Small Axe,” the upcoming anthology series from “12 Years a Slave” director Steve McQueen, and will launch the series in the U.S. It will bow on the BBC in the U.K. and BBC Studios is selling it internationally.

Amazon’s European content chief Georgia Brown revealed its involvement in the series, Tuesday, at a British parliamentary hearing into the broadcasting and Svod landscape in the country.

McQueen will direct and Lucy Richer will exec produce the show. It is being made by Turbine Studios, the U.K.-based producer founded by seasoned execs including Andrew Eaton and Tracey Scoffield.

The Office” is leaving Netflix, officially, after 2020. Starting in 2021, the only destination to watch online will be via NBCUniversal’s yet unnamed streaming platform.

NBCUniversal made the announcement Tuesday afternoon, confirming the long-feared yet largely inevitable result. As more and more streaming services are announced, and more and more profits stem from demand for popular, pre-existing properties, it was only a matter of time before “The Office” moved to its producers’ streaming home.

“‘The Office’ has become a staple of pop-culture and is a rare gem whose relevance continues to grow at a time when fans have more entertainment choices than ever before,” Bonnie Hammer, chairman of NBCUniversal direct-to-consumer and digital enterprises, said in statement to Variety. “We can’t wait to welcome the gang from Dunder Mifflin to NBCUniversal’s new streaming service.”
