'Ford v Ferrari' & 'Charlie's Angels' Look to Lead the Weekend

'Ford v Ferrari' & 'Charlie's Angels' Look to Lead the Weekend
Last weekend saw the top ten deliver the lowest combined total for the same weekend since 2007, bringing in just over $100 million. This weekend, should our forecast hold, we'll be looking at a sub-$100 million weekend for the top ten and what could be one of the worst weekends of the year. Among the week's new releases, Fox's Ford v Ferrari hopes to prove there is still an audience for adult-targeted, larger budget features alongside the release of Sony's Charlie's Angels and WB's The Good Liar.

At number one, look for Fox's Ford v Ferrari to pull into the winner's circle. A few months before Disney's acquisition of Fox was final, the decision was made to move director James Mangold's story of Ford's attempt to challenge Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966 from a summer release to a more awards-friendly Fall release. Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Black Adam’ Movie Sets Release Date

Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Black Adam’ Movie Sets Release Date
Dwayne Johnson’s long-in-development “Black Adam” movie is slated to hit theaters just in time for the holidays.

The New Line Cinema film film will debut on Dec. 22, 2021, five days after the release of James Cameron’s long-gestating “Avatar” sequel.

Johnson has been attached to play the anti-hero for most of this decade. Jaume Collet-Serra, who worked with Johnson on “Jungle Cruise,” will direct.

“Black Adam” is a spinoff from Warner Bros. and New Line’sShazam!” starring Zachary Levi, which grossed $365 million worldwide earlier this year.

The Black Adam character first appeared in DC Comics during the 1940s as a villain who had been corrupted by power, then became an anti-hero in the early 2000s with a disregard for rules and conventions.

“He’s a rebellious, one of a kind superhero, who’ll always do what’s right for the people,” Johnson wrote on Instagram, “but he does it his way. Truth and justice – the Black Adam way.”

‘Goliath’ Renewed For Fourth And Final Season By Amazon
Amazon Studios has picked up a fourth and final season of Goliath, its original drama series starring Billy Bob Thornton. The news Thursday comes a little over a month after the streamer rolled out Season 3 last month, revealing a new case for Thornton’s conflicted super-laywer Billy McBride.

The legal drama, created by David E. Kelley and Jonathan Shapiro, broke ground at Amazon, landing the first straight-to-series order at the platform which at the time was employing exclusively a pilot model, making its pilots available to the public.

Since its 2016 debut, Goliath has been one of the most popular original series on Amazon, at one point holding the crown as the service’s most binged show. Thornton won a Golden Globe that first season for playing McBride, the hard-living, once-famous L.A. lawyer with a complicated past who seeks redemption by solving cases nobody else can crack.

Netflix has responded to actress and comedian Mo’Nique’s pay discrimination lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Thursday.

“We care deeply about inclusion, equity, and diversity and take any accusations of discrimination very seriously. We believe our opening offer to Mo’Nique was fair — which is why we will be fighting this lawsuit,” a spokesperson for Netflix said in a statement to TheWrap.

Mo’Nique’s complaint accused Netflix of gender and race discrimination, saying that the company had given her a “low-ball” and “discriminatory” offer of $500,000 as a “talent fee” for a one-hour stand-up special, while other comedians were offered millions of dollars per special.

You can tell a lot about a guy by the watch he’s wearing on his wrist. The best watches can convey confidence, display taste and showcase your personality all at once. There’s a reason why musicians shout out watches in their lyrics over say, crooning about a suit and tie (Justin Timberlake song notwithstanding). Anyone can throw on a black tux, but it takes a little discernment to pick out a good watch.

The best men’s watches should match your personal style and meet your everyday needs.

The Best Maracas and Shakers

The Best Maracas and Shakers
They may look like grown-up rattles, but maracas add some serious heft to a song, whether you’re jamming out with Bob Marley or singing with Santana. A traditional instrument with roots in the Caribbean and Latin America, maracas have been used for centuries to help keep the beat, and to add dynamics and expression to a song.

Essentially a musical rattle, the best maracas these days are made from hollowed plastic or Abs “bells,” which are then filled with pebbles, beans or seeds, each creating a different texture and sound.

‘Retablo’ Director Was Surprised at How Peru Embraced His Lgbt Story
Alvaro Delgado-Aparicio wasn’t sure for a long time how the people of Peru would embrace his film, “Retablo,” which tells the story of a teenage boy in a small town who discovers that his beloved father is secretly gay. But to his very pleasant surprise, he found out that upon release it drew sellout crowds across the country.

“This is a tale about the conflict between tradition and modernity,” the director said at TheWrap’s Awards Screening Series. “If you go beyond the capital, you go to towns that are very cut off from the rest of the world and are very set in their ways. There are a lot of paradigm shifts that have to be shifted.”

“Retablo” has been shown around the world over the last couple of years, starting with a premiere at the 2017 Festival de Cine De Lima and later going on festival tour that

Danny Huston Discusses the Significance of ‘Last Photograph’

Danny Huston Discusses the Significance of ‘Last Photograph’
In the decades since Danny Huston made his feature directing debut with “Mr. North,” his 1988 film adaptation of the Thornton Wilder novel “Theophilus North,” he has kept busy in front of the cameras as one of film and television’s most versatile and sophisticated character players. In just the past year, small-screen viewers have been treated to his essential work on “Yellowstone” and “Succession,” and big-screen aficionados have watched him move deftly from intimate Guillermo Arriaga’s “No One Left Behind” to the blockbuster hit “Angel Has Fallen.” Perhaps closest to his heart is the recently released film “The Last Photograph,” which he directed and stars in.

You have something from the film to show us.

Yes, it’s “The Last Photograph” of the title. It’s the center of the story because it represents something that means something significant to one person unlike its meaning for anyone else. We all have something like that,
