Set in Japan, Isle of Dogs follows a boy's odyssey in search of his lost dog.

This contemporary romantic comedy, based on a global bestseller, follows native New Yorker Rachel Chu to Singapore to meet her boyfriend's family.

Votes: 23,813 | Gross: $17.84M
I mean this in all ways, good and bad: they should have called this "McGuffin: The Movie."

Lara Croft, the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer, must push herself beyond her limits when she discovers the island where her father disappeared.

While the film itself is entertaining enough, it never quite feels like a Star Wars movie.
30. Blockers (2018)
R | 102 min | Comedy
Three parents try to stop their daughters from losing their virginity on prom night.
Votes: 44,844 | Gross: $59.84M

When Eddie Brock acquires the powers of a symbiote, he will have to release his alter-ego "Venom" to save his life.

Audrey and Morgan are best friends who unwittingly become entangled in an international conspiracy when one of the women discovers the boyfriend who dumped her was actually a spy.

Peppermint doesn't break any new ground in any way, but at least it achieves its goal of catharsis.

PG-13 | 140 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
When the creator of a virtual reality world called the OASIS dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune.
Votes: 247,679 | Gross: $137.02M
This movie is the definition of popcorn: it tastes great, but it is completely empty.
35. The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018)
PG | 105 min | Comedy, Family, Fantasy
A young orphan named Lewis Barnavelt aids his magical uncle in locating a clock with the power to bring about the end of the world.
Votes: 15,770 | Gross: $68.44M
There's just enough Eli Roth derangement to detract from the by-the-book family fare.

After escaping an attack by what he claims was a 70-foot shark, Jonas Taylor must confront his fears to save those trapped in a sunken submersible.

It's more serious than campy, which works when it's unpredictable and fails when it's expected.

A group of friends who meet regularly for game nights find themselves entangled in a real-life mystery when the shady brother of one of them is seemingly kidnapped by dangerous gangsters.

PG-13 | 111 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, reunites with Mako Mori to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots, including rival Lambert and 15-year-old hacker Amara, against a new Kaiju threat.
Votes: 77,799 | Gross: $59.19M
Most of the time, this movie feels more like an imitation of the original rather than a sequel.
40. The Christmas Chronicles (2018)
TV-PG | 104 min | Adventure, Comedy, Family
The story of sister and brother, Kate and Teddy Pierce, whose Christmas Eve plan to catch Santa Claus on camera turns into an unexpected journey that most kids could only dream about.
I was sold on Kurt Russell as Santa Claus, but the movie takes a hard left into awful before correcting itself in the end.
41. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018)
PG-13 | 128 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
When the island's dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen and Claire mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event.
Votes: 179,962 | Gross: $416.77M
There are flashes of Bayona’s visual artistry, but this still might be the most ridiculous Jurassic Park movie yet.
42. Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation (2018)
PG | 97 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy
Count Dracula and company participate in a cruise for sea-loving monsters, unaware that their boat is being commandeered by the monster-hating Van Helsing family.
Votes: 30,605 | Gross: $167.51M
It’s about on par with the first one, but the zany comedy has more misses than hits.
43. Super Troopers 2 (2018)

When a border dispute arises between the U.S. and Canada, the Super Troopers are tasked with establishing a Highway Patrol station in the disputed area.
Votes: 16,064 | Gross: $30.62M
It often relies too heavily on the original, but the new material is just as outrageous.
44. Night School (2018)
PG-13 | 111 min | Comedy
A group of troublemakers are forced to attend night school in hope that they'll pass the GED exam to finish high school.
Votes: 6,716 | Gross: $77.12M
There must have been a different movie here, possibly funnier, because this was extraordinarily meh.
45. The Oath (2018)
R | 93 min | Comedy, Thriller
In a politically divided America, a man struggles to make it through the Thanksgiving holiday without destroying his family.
Votes: 311 | Gross: $0.40M
I'm sure there was a purpose to making this movie, but I sure as hell couldn't make coherent sense of it.
