Director: Drew Goddard | Stars: Jeff Bridges, Cynthia Erivo, Dakota Johnson, Jon Hamm

Votes: 10,617 | Gross: $8.92M

I mean this in all ways, good and bad: they should have called this "McGuffin: The Movie."

Three parents try to stop their daughters from losing their virginity on prom night.

Director: Kay Cannon | Stars: Leslie Mann, John Cena, Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Newton

A young orphan named Lewis Barnavelt aids his magical uncle in locating a clock with the power to bring about the end of the world.

Director: Eli Roth | Stars: Jack Black, Cate Blanchett, Owen Vaccaro, Kyle MacLachlan

There's just enough Eli Roth derangement to detract from the by-the-book family fare.

29 Metascore

Five years after her husband and daughter are killed in a senseless act of violence, a woman comes back from self-imposed exile to seek revenge against those responsible and the system that let them go free.

Director: Pierre Morel | Stars: Jennifer Garner, John Gallagher Jr., John Ortiz, Juan Pablo Raba

Votes: 6,794 | Gross: $35.21M

Peppermint doesn't break any new ground in any way, but at least it achieves its goal of catharsis.

46 Metascore

After escaping an attack by what he claims was a 70-foot shark, Jonas Taylor must confront his fears to save those trapped in a sunken submersible.

Director: Jon Turteltaub | Stars: Jason Statham, Bingbing Li, Rainn Wilson, Cliff Curtis

It's more serious than campy, which works when it's unpredictable and fails when it's expected.

Most of the time, this movie feels more like an imitation of the original rather than a sequel.

Count Dracula and company participate in a cruise for sea-loving monsters, unaware that their boat is being commandeered by the monster-hating Van Helsing family.

Director: Genndy Tartakovsky | Stars: Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez, Kevin James

It’s about on par with the first one, but the zany comedy has more misses than hits.

There are flashes of Bayona’s visual artistry, but this still might be the most ridiculous Jurassic Park movie yet.

While it isn't a consistent comedy, it has enough cleverness to keep you invested throughout.

Votes: 14,960 | Gross: $30.62M

It often relies too heavily on the original, but the new material is just as outrageous.

There must have been a different movie here, possibly funnier, because this was extraordinarily meh.
